Safety is a delivery requirement
Mining, transport, construction and energy activities can create serious hazards. Work should be planned and managed by qualified teams with risk assessments, competent supervision and fit-for-purpose procedures.
Communities and the environment
Water, land, waste, emissions and social impacts can determine whether a project is viable in the long term. Engagement and compliance need to begin early, not after a project has encountered opposition or delays.
Durable economics
Responsible development must be integrated into real costs and investment decisions. A project whose economics depend on ignoring environmental obligations or long-term remediation is not sustainable.
